Cartmel Priory (formerly in Lancashire) |
|
The Lakeland church of an Augustinian monastery founded in 1190 by the Earl of Pembroke. Only this and the gatehouse survive. The unusual tower with the upper storey turned at a 45 degree angle is unique in Britain.
